Fabulous restaruant! All the staff are kind and the restaurant vibe is super nice. I really like the wagyu beef sandwich, so juicy and milky, really tasty. The egg blends with rice and beef is my second favourite dish. Everything is great! Highly recommend it.
We had a fantastic dining experience at TAKA Marylebone, a Japanese and innovative restaurant on the bustling high street in London. I had heard about their popular Wagyu Sukiyaki Rice, and I decided to try their TAKA Signature set menu, which included it.
To start, they served a plate of Edamame seasoned with wild fennel salt and spicy kombu sauce, which was a delightful and savory appetiser.
The Scottish Salmon Tataki was a highlight, with its seasoning of salt, seaweed/kombu, and green chilli sauce, enhancing the freshness of the salmon, giving it the feeling of a sunny morning at the fish market.
The Miso-glazed Nasu Dengaku, featuring fermented banana miso and truffle, offered a perfect balance of sweet and savory, making me eat more.
The Sesame Spinach Salad, with tender spinach, sesame, and crispy fried scallions, had a gentle and pleasing texture.
The Popcorn Shrimp Tempura was a crispy delight, served with a combination sauce of Spicy Mayo and Butter Ponzu.
My favourite was the Wagyu Sukiyaki Rice, which featured Kagoshima Wagyu beef with an onsen egg, all topped with sukiyaki sauce. It had a rich and creamy texture with the delightful aroma of Wagyu beef, and the addition of scallions was a perfect finishing touch.
I highly recommend trying the Wagyu Sando (Wagyu Sandwich) as well, which was a delightful surprise.
The Crispy Cod Crunch Roll was a tasty combination of avocado and cod, and the portion size was generous.
For dessert, the Mochi Ice Cream had a plum flavour , and it was beautifully presented with a yuzu-scented pastry and buttery biscuits. The little flowers on the ice cream were a lovely touch.
Please note that the menu can change, so it's a good idea to check with the restaurant. The two-person set menu costs £75 per person.
Don't miss the Kasatu Michelada cocktail, especially if you enjoy fruity flavors. It's made with Mezcal, Pineapple, Citrus, Cucumber, and Kirin Beer, and it's a delightful choice for cocktail enthusiasts.
Overall, TAKA Marylebone offers a wonderful culinary experience with a variety of delicious dishes and a great atmosphere.
The food was great. We especially loved the fried chicken as well as the nasu dengaku. The tall gentleman at the bar was awesome, as somehow our dishes went from good to amazing, in that order. Highly recommended.
